1) What is the closest planet to the sun?
Written by Vraadim on Oct. 18, 2024, 3:57 a.m.
Answer: Mercury
2) What is the hottest planet in the solar system?
Written by Vraadim on Oct. 18, 2024, 3:58 a.m.
Answer: Venus. It's twice as hot as Mercury.
3) Why?
Written by Vraadim on Oct. 18, 2024, 3:58 a.m.
Answer: Venus has a huge concentration of CO2 in it's atmosphere that traps tons of energy and makes the surface of the planet boiling hot.
4) Based on this understanding, what do you expect to happen to other planets if for some reason, they suddenly double the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere?
Written by Vraadim on Oct. 18, 2024, 3:59 a.m.
Answer: The same thing that happened to Venus. But what could ever cause such a dramatic and different change to any planet?
5) What is the level of CO2 on earth, and has it changed in recent years?
Written by Vraadim on Oct. 18, 2024, 4 a.m.
Answer: Yes, dramatically. More than it has in the past millions of years.
6) But it's natural for these changes to happen, isn't it?

Answer: Yes, it's natural for the earth to swing from an ice age to boiling. Last time it happened, the ocean was 60 metres higher than current levels. But we have already built our cities near sea level, and our crops are reliant on seasons. If it all changes too fast, our society will struggle to keep up. We already donate money several times a year to unprecedented "natural disasters". Can we afford to have it get progressively worse?
7) But nothing can be done, right?
